The aim of this project is to carry out seakeeping analysis of an OSV using wave characteristics of Niger Delta Region. The objectives are to design a novel OSV for Niger Delta region and obtain the necessary principal dimensions, to determine the hydrodynamic analysis of the OSV, and from these calculations, plot engine power and propeller curve. The ability of a RoRo to float crew members and carry vehicles overboard, along with its seaworthiness of the operational life cycle, is of paramount importance not just to the crew members but also in its ability to save life. This is why the designer takes into consideration the possibilities of reducing the heave and roll amplitude effects of the RoRo, which can considerably increase the discomfort of the crew. Heave motion has been considered relatively easy to control and a lot of work has been put into damping the effects by analyzing its effect on RoRo. The seakeeping analysis showed a drop and rise in its heave response.
